The CW premieres a new series, 13 Fear is Real, a new reality show where contestants face their worst fears in order to win a ton of money. CBS airs the People’s Choice awards tonight, tune in to see if your favorites win! The second season of the FX Network’s dramatic series Damages, starring Glenn Close, should prove to be a lot of fun. I know I enjoyed the first season even though I think the main female supporting actress is about as exciting as Robin Tunney was on Prison Break and continues to be on The Mentalist. TBS premieres a new series for the multi-talented Tyler Perry entitled Meet the Browns, a spinoff of the movie featuring characters who have appeared on some of Tyler’s previous series.

NBC’s The Biggest Loser premieres for another season tonight. ABC premieres a new show: Homeland Security USA.

Everybody’s favorite slapstick doctors, Scrubs, moves to ABC tonight for its’ season premiere.

One of the FX network’s most controversial series, Nip/Tuck, premieres tonight, as do ABC’s Primetime and a new Discovery series, Wreckreation Nation. Then TBS features Turkey Bowling on the return of their “10 items or less” series.

ABC’s new Bachelor series may prove quite different: this bachelor is a single dad and he’s looking not only for a mate but a good mom for his young child. ABC Family premieres the 2nd season of Secret Life of the American Teenager in which Molly Ringwald deals with life now that her teenage daughter is pregnant. Perhaps in parallel to the Sarah Palin scenario, looks like there’s going to be a wedding!

My Network TV is premiering Masters of Illusion which is a weekly follow up to a quartet of specials that ran on the netlet last season, subtitled “Impossible Magic.”

Lifetime premieres Diettribe which charts the journey of five best friends who have made a commitment to lose their unwanted pounds together. ABC’s True Beauty asks the question “What makes a person truly beautiful?”

And, if the Texas Longhorns can win Tostitos Fiesta Bowl, there may be a split championship awarded, this season has certainly been controversial!

I’ve only seen previews of the Ruby show on STYLE which will have the season finale tonight, but this series seems to closely follow the ups and downs of the life of a morbidly-obese woman who is bound and determined to drop a lot of weight and encourage others to do so as well And NBC premieres a new dance series called Superstars of Dance. Equal parts sporting event, rock concert and artistic exhibition, this showcase of international dancers is poised to become one the greatest spectacles of dance performance ever seen on television.

Haven’t posted in quite awhile so I thought I’d do a dry run post in advance of my new, hopefully daily, posts that should start tomorrow.

I’m feeling well enough to write and post again, but still the pain and fatigue keeps me working only a 30-hour workweek. I’m hoping that will change to 40-hour workweeks by the end of January.

Thought I was gone for good, right?  No, I’ve been ill and it will be a few months before I’m back 100%, but I’m coming up for air feeling just a tad better today and figured some of you might actually care about the shows that I’m interested in following during August.  So, here’s what I’ll be paying most attention to during August.  Go Gators and Tampa Bay Bucs, Seattle Seahawks, and here’s to Brett Favre being able to play first string somewhere!
