We finally found out what Agent Rossi (Joe Mantegna) did that caused him to leave the BAU in disgrace. He let himself become more important than the case, writing a book about the killers he caught, and not about the victims of the crimes.
Well, he met a woman who looked as if she were going down that path also, and he tried to save her but it was not to be. Not only did she give a press conference without first passing it by the BAU agents, she colluded with a reporter without even letting on that she was giving information to the press.
We can only hope that few of our criminal investigators are working only for the publicity they can get.
