Writers’ Strike Commentary

This writers’ strike has gone too far! Sure I sympathize with their original motives, to get residuals from the newer forms of media such as dvd rentals and online viewing, but enough is enough! When one group of people can convince a whole industry that they cannot continue to function, despite the fact that there are other people out there who are probably willing to step in and take their place, something has got to change.
I realize they have a right to peacefully demonstrate and to negotiate for different
conditions in their contracts, but for the awards shows to feel that they have to shut down is ridiculous! Did you see how sad it was for the People’s Choice Awards to have no audience and rely solely on prerecorded clips for acceptance speeches? Poor Queen Latifah, trying to hold that together on her own! I wonder if she will feel the backlash of doing the show at all. And now the Golden Globes show is being cancelled!
When will it ever end?
