I can believe that William Friedkin, director of The Exorcist, also directed this episode. Warrick’s been having trouble with his wife, issues with drugs, taking some to go to sleep and more to keep him awake to work. Well, tonight his work and personal issues collide big-time!
While investigating murders connected to a high-power mob boss, Warrick goes too far, attempting to go undercover and trying to get information from one of the dancers at the mob boss’ club. She invites Warrick to her place and what follows is a psychedelic interlude as drugs and alcohol work on Warrick’s brain, clearly not allowing him to remember events as they happened. He awakens in bed with no one there, takes a cab back to the club where he left his car, and finds Grissom rushing forward saying “You can’t cross the yellow tape this time, it’s your car!”
Warrick turns toward his car and sees the dancer hanging out of the car, with blood everywhere and all he can do is scream “She hasn’t done anything!” This ends the show and leaves us waiting for more.
