Dallas a Comedy?

larry-hagman.jpgIf you’ve ever seen an episode of the series Dallas you’rejr-and-sue-ellen.jpg already smiling, but to allow Ben Stiller to run with the lead role of J. R. Ewing could just turn it into a disaster. Remember how everyone looked forward to the “reimagining” of Bewitched? Well, this will be worse because Dallas, while being melodramatic enough to call it farce or satirical, wasn’t meant to be a flat-out comedy. How about Joel Grey as the devil in the finale? And doesn’t everyone wish they had guessed it was Sue Ellen’s baby sister who shot J.R.? But who could really play J.R. as well as Larry Hagman? Ignore this movie and go watch the original series!
