Wow, what an emotional roller coaster ride! Do Sara and Grissom ever communicate? I can’t believe people can consider themselves to be in a relationship without talking about how they feel about their jobs. Sara got way too involved in this case, ironically after warning her new partner not to do just that in a domestic abuse case. I can’t say that I’ll miss Sara, but it will be heartbreaking to see Grissom try to get along without her, he made it obvious that she was really important to him in last season’s finale.
I found the opening to be quite interesting, showing Sara cutting something that was later identified as her name tag. What followed was a peek into a college dorm, from a first-floor room where the frat boys were guzzling beer, to a second-floor room where the roomies looked like paranoid, Lone Gunmen types, to the third-floor room where a couple were making the bedsprings squeak. The camera then moved to the window where a body slowly fell until it hit the pavement and the CSI folks showed up. Great montage!
