pushing-daisies-cast2.jpgThis show is a whimsical, fairy-tale story about a man named Ned who finds out as a child that he can bring dead things back to life. What a wonderful thing, you say? Not so, because there are a couple of disclaimers: 1) if he touches the newly-revived again, they are dead again and for good this time, and 2) if he doesn’t touch them again within 1 minute of reviving them, something else nearby will die for good.

Odd concept for a tv show, right? Well, consider that, as a child, Ned revived his mom after she fell dead on the kitchen floor, did not revive her right away and the neighbor across the street dropped dead. And note that the neighbor had a daughter for whom Ned had a major crush. So, you see, Ned has quite a dilemma when, having grown up, he finds this girl dead and revives her. What happens next you may ask!

As of the most recent episodes, she continues to live and, despite their strong feelings for one another, they know they can never touch or she will again be dead. His childhood dog is still with him, and Ned cannot touch him either. Together, they try to make life work in a pie store with their friends. It is a quirky show and, despite my own objections to watching comedies and soapy ones at that, it keeps me coming back week after week.
