On Pardon the Interruption, a sports discussion show on ESPN, the other night, Michael Wilbon mentioned that he planned to watch the finale of the first season of Damages, the legal drama starring Glenn Close and Ted Danson. He recommended others to watch and then go back and watch the rest of the season.
I’m not sure if I recommend the finale first, but then I haven’t seen it yet myself. I have been watching this series from the beginning, however, and highly recommend it myself. But perhaps it should be viewed from the beginning.
The FX Network hasn’t been around very long, but the dramas they run are top notch: The Shield, having just completed its 6th season; Nip Tuck, starting on their 5th season next week, and Damages, its newest series that has come to my attention.
For those of you who haven’t seen The Shield, it is a must for anyone interested in cop shows who is tired of the ho-hum procedurals found on the major networks. It’s extremely edgy as it portrays cops as not always good, not always bad, but very gray. The end of the pilot was enough for me to recommend it to others and I’ve never missed an episode!
Nip Tuck has touched on many controversial areas set in the world of plastic surgery. So many reasons people need to have body parts increased or decreased in size or replaced completely! Who knew it would be dangerous to have your dog lick peanut butter off your body?
If you’ve never seen any of these shows you can start with Nip Tuck’s 5th season starting on October 30, then go rent or buy The Shield or Damages to catch up before they come back on next year.
