State of Mind - Finale Review

To dance, perchance to dream… Okay, so that’s not exactly how it goes, but isn’t life just a dance? Some have better skill at it than others but we all have to perform to an extent.

I found this to be a comforting episode where all wrongs were righted yet not without some sacrifice.

Everyone had to give up their independence in order to create an environment of cohesion for the betterment of the whole.

- Lola is trying to get along for the sake of Ladonna, who will now have the benefit of two strong women taking care of her.

- Dr. LaCroix had to put away childish things to step up and be the son his father needed most.

- Ann and Michael had to be willing to overcome whatever obstacles might come their way. Not only is there a contigent of viewers upset with the racial mix of this relationship, but Michael is Cornelia’s ex-husband and she is one of Ann’s closest friends, but she’s going to be hurt when she finds out they are having a baby, and the timing couldn’t be worse: she has just recently broken up with Dr. Kalid, who is doing everything he can to get his family situation repaired.

I was glad that Barry White, the lawyer, was able to work things out for Lola, and I hope that Courtney Vance will continue in the role of Michael, though I think they may have jumped the shark if Ann and Michael plan to marry, but as of now this quirky Lifetime show hasn’t been picked up for a second season anyway!
