BBC America is hosting a marathon of the Series 1 episodes of Doctor Who. This is the 9th doctor, played by Christopher Eccleston, also known as the Invisible Man from the hit series, Heroes.

The Doctor’s companion during this series is Rose Tyler and the adventures they experience are a roller coaster ride for the audience. Eccleston is lots of fun and the addition of Roses’s mum and her sometimes-boyfriend, Mickey, add to the tension as they work to keep Rose at home when The Doctor and his time traveling keep Rose wanting more.

“The Empty Child” is one of my favorite episodes from this series, but the final, 13th, episode is a must-see for all Eccleston and Tennant fans as we see the change from one doctor to another for ourselves.

Put these episodes on your Tivo and dump them to DVD to view whenever you’re in the mood for a scifi adventure!
