I”m happy to tell you that Burn Notice pulled in 4.4 million viewers in a recent week, beating out both Monk and Psych. These numbers were considered good enough for the network to pick it up for a second season! Maybe NBC will be smart enough to run it on their flagship station now.
In this episode, Michael was able to get the name of the man who knows who put out the burn notice on him. He spent a lot of his time reading the dossier he got from the Fed last week and Fi wasn’t too happy out it. To make her feel better, Michael decided to take her to the beach. After all, they do live in Miami.
No sooner did they get out of the car than Fi was off for the closest hotel. Michael got it out of her that she was working part-time as a bounty hunter. Last week a gun runner, this week a bounty hunter. Jack of all trades, master of none? Anyway, she and Michael ended up chasing the guy on the lam as well as a competing bounty hunter, a really big guy who gave Michael a run for his money. When Fi caught up with Thomas, he said he wasn’t guilty and would she help him prove it, offering Fi and Michael twice the bounty money.
Michael and Fi did a little investigating and located a fence who was dealing in the stolen goods Brian had supposedly lifted at a hotel. They determined that Lawrence Henderson, portrayed by Brett Cullen of Lost and Friday Night Lights, was the culprit and, as hotel owner, could use the funds from the sale to bolster his assets long enough to tide him over.
Of course, Michael, with Fi’s and Sam’s help, was able to bring Lawrence to justice, and none too soon. See, Thomas and Fi had gotten used to Thomas staying at Michael’s place and had been enjoying the meals Thomas was nice enough to cook for her as well as the wine Michael kept in stock. They were getting very chummy and Michael was trying to ignore it. But it turned out to be an act on Fi’s part to get Michael jealous, so we’ll have to wait and see how they get along next week.
In the meantime, Michael set up this Fed guy so that it looked like he had done a favor for a Lebanese crook, so Michael was graced with a phone call from the Fed and, after words were exchanged, it was understand that Michael hadn’t heard the last of him.
I still hope that Audrey Landers is the brains behind this whole conspiracy against Michael!
