Why wouldn’t any woman fall in love with Gil Mayo? He’s an intelligent guy, a cop, buys “collectibles” (they are NOT toys), stays at home when his teenage daughter tells him he should go out and meet people, is actively searching for someone who has seen his errant wife in the last year or so, still keeps his eye on Alex, a female co-worker with whom he once had an intimate relationship, and then, of course, there’s his penchant to correct people’s grammar. A man after my own heart.
In the most recent episode, a potential suspect kept saying “would of” and immediately Gil would say “would have”. That’s the kind of thing that would drive me crazy too.
The season finale for this show airs tomorrow and I’m looking forward to the next season.

I found this show just as it was wrapping up the season - only saw about 4 episdoes. I thought it was great to have a mystery that was not too serious but also not too over the top. It’s a good blend of humor, mystery, and good writing. I was very suprised that the show ended with such a short season. I went searching on the BBC America site and could not find much info.
I hope there is another season in the works.
