Upfront I want to give kudos to the writers for (as I mentioned in my Burn Notice post) not going high school on us. Even though all the plotlines dealt with the high school students (who are all old enough to move on to college anytime now, right?) they did not use the high school as a location for ANY events - woo hoo!
As for the show, it certainly seems worthwhile for Kyle to continue his training if he has such issues multi-sensing. It’s too bad Kyle didn’t hear the “other” heartbeat before he found Amanda’s, maybe he would have been able to catch the guy. Early on I thought it might be Charlie!
I love seeing Amanda’s mom, played by Teryl Rothery, I remember her fondly as the doctor on Stargate:SG1. I couldn’t figure out why she disliked Kyle so much at first.
Kyle’s analysis of the burglaries was pretty cool. I didn’t realize the kids had a curfew enforced by the security system.
How many pawn shops could there possibly be in that town? Cool reference to Veronica Mars. So now we know why Amanda’s mom was mad at Kyle, she guessed he could figure out that SHE pawned Amanda’s bracelet and she was right. Did she set up the whole burglary as well? When I saw the burglar being given an envelope I thought it was money from Amanda’s mom in payment for the burglary, but I guess not.
At one point I feared that Kyle was going to keep yet another secret from Amanda. It’s a good thing Amanda’s mom came clean, was it just a coincidence that they were burgled at all?
I can’t wait to see what happens when XY and XX meet. I’d like them to form an alliance against Zzyzx and both work with Foss to fully understand their capabilities. I guess Kyle was right when he said he got the ring from his family. I mean who, besides Adam and XX ARE his family really?
Declan has no idea what he’s getting into being the first person her own age to engage Jesse in conversation. And Lori’s senses are heightened to their connection too. And now Jesse’s making drawings of him.
Stephen could learn a lot about his son if he’d keep playing his video games. Stephen did a wonderful 180 after the thing with the promise about a car, saying “don’t start with the invasion of privacy thing” - so many parents today think that they can’t crack down on their kids about doing things that THEY did when they were kids too. Of course this was something they had done just 3 short years before and then kept it. But I still hope he doesn’t let this ride. And Stephen definitely needs to get rid of that shoebox. Teaching “what you do is as important as what you say” was a good way to handle the situation. I liked Kyle’s take too: “you can’t afford to waste any can you?” about brain cells.
And now Stephen will be working for Zzyzx, or at least a subsidiary. I wonder if Kyle will try to track down the ring - do you think it might be the key to some kind of superpowers? Could Stephen become like HRG of Heroes and not realize he’s working for an evil organization with the sole purpose of recapturing Kyle?

“And now Stephen will be working for Zzyzx, or at least a subsidiary…”? I thought it was vice versa; Zzyzx was a subsidiary of Madacorp. A small hint of Madacorp’s existence was given last year (Ep 2); this year it plays a much bigger role in the plot. Note that “Mada” is “Adam” spelled backwards; thus Madacorp would be the company that Adam Baylin founded but would later turn against him.
Collins, I obviously was not paying attention as much as you were early on. This show has grown on me and I seem to be paying better attention lately. I really do hope things get more exciting when Kyle and Jesse meet.
