					<description>Yes, the pilot episode reveals that Matt and Cheryl were partners for 5 years before she got promoted, which of course adds a level of tension to their working relationship now that she is his boss.  However, I loved how they showed Matt's loyalty to her as a partner and friend in this episode as she struggled to deal with her job and her emotions.

As for whether or not Matt and Emily learn anything from it, we get a definitive answer to that question with next week's episode, so you'll just have to tune in to see...</description>
