My TV Musings

Guess we can start with the list of superpowers XX & XY have:

- superstrength - XX killed the camper in the pilot
- super shield - XY never got burned in the fire
- super hearing - XX hearing through soundproof walls & XY overhears “the slut” with his latest conquest

Kyle just wants to be a normal boy, and Lori & Hilary just want to be virgins again, and Mom wants, what? To be a stay-at-home mom who bakes cupcakes all day? Guess she found out THAT’s not gonna work. When did she stop working anyway? When Kyle first joined their family a year ago, or when he left them and they all fell apart?

Did you catch the Wizard of Oz-type vibe when Hilary showed up at school in a plaid skirt carrying a basket purse? I expected to see Mrs. Gulch riding her bicycle or her broom…

I especially liked the change of personality for XX! But that erasure done at Madacorp didn’t take very well did it?

And just when I was starting to get sick of watching these kids play at being in high school when they should at least be in college by now, there was that cool vibe between XX & XY through the fire (which reminded me of the Buffy musical).

Ultimately, Kyle and Mom come full circle and realize they’ve been running away from who they are and not facing facts: she needs to work again and he needs to train to be the superhero he is - and that means Nicholas Lea (Foss) will stay on the show a while longer.

Next week, the Tragers will be targetted and want some answers from Kyle - it’s time for more darkness and mystery and less high school.
