Hell hath no fury, as they say!
Darah sure didn’t back down when given a chance to show Keegan how she felt about being kidnapped! When she struck the first blow and he was still alive, I shouted “Do it again!” and she did…again and again and again. Here you have this sleazy cult leader manipulating young women and even his long-time wife to sacrifice themselves for his twisted beliefs. I’ve often wondered whether cult leaders actually believe the drivel they spout, but this guy was just out for revenge against the man who took over his “church”.
This episode had me on the edge of my seat, with non-stop action and tension throughout. Emily especially shone when she talked Ruth into opening her eyes to the truth and finding the explosives in the RV. And that was the beginning of the end of the whole nightmare.
I have to ask if anyone else notices that Lia, the woman who stays at the office monitoring surveillance equipment, always dresses as if she’s on her way to a formal party? She kind of reminds me of Vanessa Marcil of Las Vegas, but her role is a greeter at a high-class casino, not sitting in a dark room watching video!
I notice that Gwen, the blonde who sacrificed herself, was on Joan of Arcadia playing Joan’s younger brother’s girlfriend. Boy has she come a long way from being a nervous, homely girl! In fact I think she played a hooker on The Shield a year or so ago.

The actress who played Darah is named Michelle Page, and she actually stopped by the Standoff discussion forums (see http://www.fox.com/standoff) for a little chat about her experience working on the show! Feel free to check out those threads, I think you’ll enjoy them!
Oh, and, I also want to point out that y’all should tune in next week for the episode “Lie to Me”…there’s a MAJOR development in Matt and Emily’s relationship, as well as a window into Emily’s past.
