Treat Williams and Kari Matchett are reliving previous roles in this new summer series. With Williams playing a surgeon who works with such intensity that it makes for difficult relationships, it could be Doc Brown from Everwood before he left the East Coast. And in Invasion, Kari Matchett portrayed a doctor who often had to put up with her ex-husband at the hospital. Treat and Kari are exes in Heartland, working in the world of organ recovery. Dabney Coleman and Morena Baccarin co-star.

I’m hunting web sites unsuccessfully trying to ID the actor who’s playing the deceased heart transplant donor’s widower in the series premiere. He may [Thomas F. Wilson?] have played the tough kid “Biff” in the first “BAck to the Future” movie. Can anyone give me a reference source for researching “Heartland” episode credits?
Donny, the actor that played Mark Evans in the first episode of “Heartland” is Ryan Hurst. He was in “Remember the Titans”, and even guest starred on “Everwood” once! Just look up his name on IMDb.com or TV.com and it will come up!
Hope this was who you were looking for!
So “Mark Evans” is the heart transplant donor’s widower then? I wonder what ever happened to Thomas (”Biff”) Wilson! The two guys have a way-similar look, don’t you think?
Yes, sorry, Mark Evans is the widower. I agree, Ryan looks a lot like Thomas/Biff, except Thomas is a lot older now haha
I just hate it when I know somebody on some TV show, but can’t figure out their name!
