Dead Zone Returns

I have always liked Stephen King novels, at least the early ones like Salem’s Lot, The Shining, The Stand, Firestarter, Pet Cemetery, and Christine but they didn’t all make great movies.

I never read The Dead Zone but I watched the movie with Christopher Walken and I know he portrayed Johnny Smith in a much different way than does Anthony Michael Hall. I really like what the Pillers have done with the series, especially as the show has grown beyond the love triangle and become a bona-fide mystery drama with enough scifi elements to keep me happy.

I especially liked the episode (many seasons ago) where Bruce went back to his hometown and worked out some issues with his father (played by the great Louis Gossett, Jr.). Does anyone else miss Bruce’s dreadlocks? And doesn’t Sean Patrick Flannery look like he must be the offspring of David Cassidy?

But I digress…just wanted to remind you that this show has been picked up for a 6th season starting Sunday, June 17, so don’t miss it!
