Standoff Follow-Up

Well, I watched the latest Standoff episode, No Strings, didn’t even fast forward through the parts with the redhead in it. And I realized this is an intense, exciting drama, not just a relationship show. That’s the trouble I had with it when it first started. It felt like they were jumping the shark from the get-go by having 2 of the main leads involved.

I mean, on Bones, Brennan and Booth haven’t ever gotten close enough for anyone to be satisfied with their relationship and things will probably stay that way for some time to come. But apparently the Standoff relationship isn’t far enough along that Emily even knows how Matt feels about her. I can live with that.

In the end I figured out who Emily reminds me of: a combination of Brennan from Bones and Megan (Diane Farr) from Numb3rs, both strong women with vulnerable sides. In fact I think Emily is stronger than her partner Matt. So I’ll watch the final 3 episodes of this series and I’m sure I’ll enjoy them.  Maybe enough to even miss the show when it goes!

Fair enough, thanks for the honesty.

There are more than 3 episodes remaining, though…next week’s will be “Backfire”, then “Roadtrip”, then “Lie to Me”, then “X-Factor,” then “Kids in the Hall,” then “Severance”…unless FOX goes and changes the order, which is entirely possible.

I hope you enjoy them.

I’m glad that you liked the show! It’s always nice to gain a new fan!
If you thought ‘No Strings’ was a good episode then you’re going to love what Standoff has in store for you!
Keep watching! You won’t be disappointed!

I’ll second that!

The next episodes are even better!

I get what you’re saying with Brennan and Megan having a strong resemblance with Emily! I think so too. The next episodes show even more personality and charactor development, especially for Emily.

In regards to the show “jumping the shark from the get go” with the Matt&Emily relationship, I can see why you might think that was “wrong”. That fact though, is why I watch this show. Beacuse it’s not something we’ve seen before, the leads being involved already in the pilot. It’s the most original script I’ve seen in a long time. There are so many things to explore in a relationship and this show does it perfectly!

I have never seen a show before where I thought EVERY episode was special, brilliant, surprising and better than the one before! But that’s the case with Standoff!

If you watch all six episodes that are left, you will be more than hooked. Since you are late bloomer as far as getting into the arc of the show, you can now go back and watch the first 11 episodes with a new found understanding. I think you might be more than hooked!!! Standoff is a great show with potential far beyond anthing else introduces last year by the FOX network. We can only hope that others like you watch and then speak out.
