My TV Musings

Veronica Mars is no more - so much so that Kristen Bell has a new show this fall! I realize that actors move on, often long before fans do, but I was really hoping this show would move in a different direction and continue on. The whole FBI internship and fast forward 4 years sounded good to me. But, alas, it was not to be.

I really like how it went out, though, even though they weren’t aware it was a series finale, it seemed like closure of a kind anyway. Piz and Veronica have the makings of a great relationship. Unlike Logan, he is a man of peace, barely willing to fight back when Logan was really whaling on him. And such an intellectual as well as a music snob, right in line with Veronica. And he thinks she looks cute when she’s hacking!

Which reminds me, I’m glad Mac moved on, even if she did pick Max, the purveyor of tests, er..study guides, over Bronson, her very first boyfriend worth mentioning. Which reminds me, how nice it was that Dick apologized to her for how he treated her and his brother, Beaver, I mean Cassidy. And he actually asked Logan if he tried to stop Cassidy from jumping off the roof at the season ender last year. Dick wasn’t kidding when he told his dad he had tried to put it all behind him, not even bringing that up with Logan until now! Gave me a newfound respect, of a sort, for dear old Dick Casablancas.

It’s too bad about Sheriff Mars, but nice that Keith helped Veronica out of a jam by erasing that dvr with the evidence against her. We all understood why she had to break into Jake Kane’s place and it was worth it to Keith to risk losing the election to keep her safe. I mean, the FBI can’t overlook stuff like that when considering who will intern for them. It was nice to see her cast her vote at the end, knowing he had no chance of winning with his prosecution plastered all over the front page.

So, here’s to our Ronnie, may she live on via DVD!
