Law & Order:Criminal Intent Finale Review

I pretty much had given up on this show recently and I think it was mainly because they had too many people taking turns as lead characters. Well you can’t say that of the finale. It was the Chris Noth show all the way.
As Mike Logan, he portrays an intense guy who has anger issues. I mean, when he left Law & Order many years ago it was because he couldn’t keep his temper under control. In this finale we got to see the softer side for just a moment, as he connected with Kelli Williams’ character, a woman who lived just down the hall in his apartment building. It was sad to watch them bond while discussing what true happiness might be like: a ride in a 69 GTO. And I appreciated when he mentioned how he missed his former partner Lenny (played by the late great Jerry Orbach) and even dreamed of Lenny telling him that he wasn’t really dead.
Then when his new girlfriend was found dead in front of their building and the cops on the beat didn’t seem to think it was anything more than a suicide, he jumped right in to investigate. He tracked down an ex-boyfriend of hers who apparently intimidated her into having sex with him and, after he left, she went to the roof and jumped. After confronting and arresting the guy, Logan finds himself back in the bar where they met and hears her voice saying “I’m not dead” - he turns around and for a brief moment she is standing outside the window, smiling. Now that’s an ending that’ll bring tears to anyone’s eyes! And a pledge to start watching all the Chris Noth episodes of this series.

I loved this episode because I love Chris Noth. Loved him on L&O Original, loved him on Sex & the City and now actually watch CI cause he’s on it.
Was bummed they killed off his “date” though, I felt a relationship might balance out some of Logan’s “issues”. Hope Wheeler isn’t gone for good either.
I found your site quite by accident but like it
