What an exciting week this was for Survivor! After Alex got kicked out the week before I thought it would be ho-hum from here on out but NO! Yao Man won the truck this week and immediately started negotiating with Dreamz. Don’t know if Dreamz realizes there is a truck curse on Survivor: no one has ever won the truck and gone on to win the show, but he took Yao Man up on his offer to give him the truck in exchange for the immunity necklace if Dreamz were to win it when they reach the final 4. It was only later that Dreamz realized that Yao Man thinks of Dreamz as his greatest competition and it was his way of assuring Dreamz could be voted out during that final 4 week. I was hoping Dreamz might find the 2nd immunity idol so he could use it that week, but then Earl found it.
Dreamz has never owned a vehicle before and was so excited about getting that truck. He has told us from the beginning of the show that he has been homeless for a portion of his life and hasn’t had the perks that a lot of us take for granted. Yeah, I know he stabbed the Alex/Mookie alliance in the back, but he’s starting to grow on me. Earl and Yao Man act like it’s a given they’ll end in the final 4 and maybe the final 2 and it would change things up if Dreamz could hold out for the win.
And then there’s Boo. For most of the hour, all we heard was that Boo had to go. Everyone was ready to vote him off. So, of course, he steps up at the immunity challenge and wins it! So the alliance had to decide who would go next and Earl and Yao Man said it should be Stacy. Then Dreamz had a great idea…he approached his closest friend Cassandra and said that they should vote out Yao Man now because he was getting too strong and he’s dangerous because he has one of the immunity idols. They were able to quietly convince Stacy and Boo to change their votes to Yao Man! Yao Man started feeling nervous that afternoon but Earl assured him the others could be trusted and that Stacy would definitely go home that night.
They made it all the way to tribal council and through the questioning without giving away the strategy, but when it came to Jeff asking if anyone wanted to use an immunity idol to negate any votes against them, everyone looked at Yao Man and it was so obvious that something was up that he wisely gave up the idol, negating the 4 votes against him and poor Stacy had to leave, having received only 2 votes. I believe it is the first time an immunity idol has been played in this game.
So now the only immunity idol belongs to Earl. We’ll see if he needs to use it during Sunday’s 3 hour finale (the final hour is a reunion show), when the final 5 get pared down to just 1 winner! How they plan to go from 5 to 1 in the 2 hours they have is anyone’s guess but I’ll bet it will be exciting! Sunday, May 13

Thanks for stopping by WS! Some points for ya:
Richard Hatch - the winner of the first Survivor in Borneo, is the only person to win the car and the million. Since then, the car curse has been in effect I believe.
I don’t think Stacy was blindsided - she knew from the beginning that it was her or Boo and once Boo won immunity, it was a sure thing. Dreamz tried to manipulate it his way so that he could keep his word and still hold on to the car without regret, but it was a play destined to failure. Yau Man had ‘bad vibes’ and knew something was up. I think (and Stacy agreed on Survivor: Live on Friday) that he would have used it regardless. And Stacy’s words at Tribal Council confirmed the strategy by speaking of the ’split vote’ that was destined to happen. She dropped the ball. But it was going to be her or boo no matter what as they were not part of the core alliance currently in control.
Earl and Yau-Man have played one hell of a game! I think they are the only two deserving of the win. Boo has laid too low for too long. He’s cute, but deserving? Nah. He’s out F5.
Cassandra, while knowing her tribemates really well as proved by the one challenge she won, has done exactly zero otherwise. She never even tries during the challenges, and that really bothers me. She has no heart, she just has a hold of coattails. I also think she messed up by going against Earl/Yau-Man and voting for Yau.
Dreamz has backstabbed everyone in this game, and I have a feeling the worst is yet to come. There’s been talk all season of a huge controversy involving the truck, and I fear he’s not going to keep his word, and Yau-Man will go home at F4.
That would leave Earl, Cassandra and Dreamz in the F3. All votes deserve to go to Earl, hands down. He’s played this game perfectly, both him and Yau-Man, since episode one.
Anyway! Only a few more hours to go!
Lessa, thanks for keeping me on the straight and narrow about the truck curse. I’ve found out that someone had already used the immunity idol once before also but it was when the rules about it were different.
Can’t wait to see the finale! I definitely agree about Cassandra and Dreamz not being worthy, but Boo has stepped it up lately. Earl has been the strongest throughout I think but Yao Man has surprised us with his physical prowess at times.
It’s all going to be up to who gets immunity. So, it could just about be anyone’s game. But I am rooting for Earl or Yao Man. Thanks for stoppig by my blog and I really enjoy yours!
