This show has been talked about so much and had been so well-thought-of in past seasons that I tried it out a few years ago and I dove right in, enjoying the banter between the mother and daughter as well as with some specific characters such as Paris and Emily. And the quirky townspeople of Stars Hollow made you wish to live in such a hometown. When the Palladinos wrote and produced the series, right up to the end of last season, it was fun to watch and even the dramatic moments weren’t overly so. But they left it in such disarray that David Rosenthal had trouble righting the ship and, since it looks like this is the final season (though Ausiello says last minute negotiations are underway to possibly end in a short 8th season instead of now), it appears most of the loyal viewers will be left with a bad taste in their mouths. The beginning of the end starts up again this week, on Tuesday night. Watch it and weep!
