I wasn’t sure how well I would like this show but I was pleasingly surprised. When I realized that Raines sees dead people but only as a figment of his own imagination I discounted the fun it could be. What did I care what his imagination thought this dead person might have been like? But, as the show went on, his imagination changed and the characters took on new aspects, attitude, clothing, hair, makeup, accents, as Raines learned more about the character and as different things would occur to him as being possible. It was interesting seeing him talk to one victim and see her attitude change back and forth as he bickered with himself over some of her traits. I’m even getting used to Jeff Goldblum’s muttering ways! I had it pegged early on that his ex-partner, with whom he discusses his cases, was also dead, and that he will be a recurring part of the show, whereas the victim’s will come and go with each episode, but only leaving when his imagination decides they are no longer necessary. Try this one out, I think you might get hooked.
